Janet Spittler is Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Virginia. Her research focusses on non-canonical Christian works, particularly the apocryphal acts of the apostles. Her most recent book (Reading Christian Apocrypha, co-authored with Tobias Nicklas) explores the central role of non-canonical works in the history of Christian thought and practice.
